Statement of Faith

The One True God

We believe in one true, living, and almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who revealed Himself in the Old Testament as Yahweh, the eternal “I AM” (Deut. 6:4; Isa. 45:5–6; Exod. 3:14). God is eternal, uncreated, and sovereign over all things (Ps. 90:2; Rev. 4:11).

God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14). The Father is the source of all that exists and the ultimate authority within the Godhead (1 Cor. 8:6; John 17:1–3).

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the pre-incarnate Word of God, through whom all things were created (John 1:1–3; Col. 1:15–17). He was active in the Old Testament as the Messenger of Yahweh and was revealed in the fullness of time through the incarnation, being fully God and fully man (Gen. 16:7–13; Exod. 3:2–6; John 1:14). The Son shares the divine nature of the Father and willingly submits to the Father’s will (John 5:19–23; Phil. 2:5–11).

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who proceeds from the Father, carrying out God’s will by convicting the world of sin, regenerating believers, indwelling them, and empowering them for holy living and service (John 14:16–17; John 16:7–14; Rom. 8:9–11).

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:20–21). Scripture is our final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian practice (Ps. 19:7–11; Isa. 8:20; Matt. 4:4).

We believe the Scriptures are to be interpreted according to their literary form, historical context, and original audience, while recognizing their enduring application for all people (Neh. 8:8; Luke 24:27; 1 Cor. 10:11).

Creation and Revelation

We believe God created all things by His power and wisdom (Gen. 1:1; Heb. 11:3). God has revealed Himself both through Scripture and through creation, and these revelations are harmonious and truthful (Ps. 19:1–4; Rom. 1:20).

We affirm that humanity was uniquely created in the image of God and is accountable to Him (Gen. 1:26–27; Acts 17:24–28).

Salvation

We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone and is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Eph. 2:8–9). Salvation is the work of God from beginning to end, yet each person is responsible to respond to the gospel in repentance and faith (Acts 17:30; Rom. 10:9–13).

Those who are saved are born again by the Holy Spirit and become new creations in Christ (John 3:3–8; 2 Cor. 5:17). True faith results in a transformed life marked by obedience, good works, and perseverance, though salvation itself is not earned by works (James 2:17; Titus 3:5).

We believe all who are truly saved are secure in Christ and kept by God’s power (John 10:27–29; Rom. 8:38–39; Eph. 1:13–14).

God’s People and the Church

We believe the church is the one body of Christ, made up of all believers united by faith in Him (Eph. 1:22–23; 1 Cor. 12:12–13). Through Christ, believing Jews and Gentiles are reconciled into one people of God and share equally in the promises made to Abraham (Rom. 11:17–24; Gal. 3:26–29; Eph. 2:11–22).

The local church is called to gather regularly for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, service, and the proclamation of the gospel (Acts 2:42–47; Heb. 10:24–25).

Ordinances

We believe in water baptism by immersion as a public testimony of repentance, faith, and union with Christ in His death and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:3–4).

We believe the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance instituted by Christ to remember His sacrificial death and to proclaim it until He returns (Luke 22:19–20; 1 Cor. 11:23–26).

Worship

We believe worship is to be offered to God in spirit and in truth and conducted in an orderly manner consistent with New Testament instruction (John 4:23–24; 1 Cor. 14:26–40).

We affirm that God is honored through various expressions of worship, whether with or without musical instruments and across different musical styles, provided worship flows from sincere hearts of reverence, gratitude, and love for God (Ps. 150; Col. 3:16).

The Last Things

We believe Jesus Christ will return visibly and gloriously to complete God’s redemptive plan (Acts 1:11; Rev. 22:12). At His return, the dead will be raised, all people will stand before God in judgment, and God will establish the new heavens and the new earth, where He will dwell forever with His redeemed people (1 Cor. 15:20–28; Rev. 21:1–4).

Believers will receive glorified bodies and enjoy eternal life in the presence of God (1 Cor. 15:51–54; Phil. 3:20–21). The unrighteous will face judgment and the final punishment of the second death, in accordance with God’s perfect justice (Matt. 10:28; Rom. 6:23; Rev. 20:11–15).

Spiritual Gifts and Christian Unity

We believe the Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to believers for the building up of the church and the advancement of God’s kingdom (1 Cor. 12:4–7; Eph. 4:11–13).

We affirm the importance of Christian unity and charity, especially in matters of conscience and non-essential doctrine, seeking peace and mutual edification within the body of Christ (Rom. 14:1–19; Eph. 4:3).
